Investment Consultant Biography

Dan Semrad Dan graduated from the Creighton University College of Business in 1971 with degrees in finance and marketing. He earned his Master of Arts degree in liberal studies from Creighton University in May of 2009. He began in the investment business in 1976 with Kirkpatrick, Pettis, Smith, Polian. Dan joined A.G. Edwards in 1983 where he worked before joining SMITH HAYES. He is on the board of directors of The Art Farm of Nebraska, the Advisory Board of the Nebraska Appleseed Foundation, Friends of The Ross Film Theatre, Advisory Board of Creighton University's College of Arts and Sciences and is Board Chair of the Great Plains Environmental Law Center. Additionally he serves on Creighton University's Graduate School Advisory Board and PHD/EDD Curriculum Task Force. He has worked as an instructor at Creighton University in the areas of Asian Philosophy, Buddhist Studies, and in the graduate school of business in the areas of Ethics and Society. The "Semrad Team" includes Dan's son Jeff and their administrative assistant Julie Kloke. Julie joined A.G. Edwards/Wachovia in 2008 after working in the trust industry for 16 years. Julie is a graduate of the Canon Trust School with the Canon Financial Institute. Julie’s son Aaron, age 20, is a sophomore at UNL majoring in political science.
